Introduction

DataSplice maintains and runs a demo system on our internal servers. This system runs on a Maximo 7 instance on Oracle and is intended to be used by our Sales team, as well as potential customers and other interested parties.

This guide covers using the DataSplice Remote Client to demonstrate some typical end-user functionality. If you have any questions about this document or the Demo System, please contact us at demosupport@datasplice.com.

This guide will cover the offline operation of this demo, which is the recommended method. Online operation is available (talking directly to our servers), but should not be used unless you have contacted us and been instructed to use it. Offline mode has a couple of advantages over online mode, especially in most demo use-case scenarios. Perhaps the main reason is that offline operation does not require an active internet connection, which is not always possible at demo locations. Since it does not use an internet connection you will need to download a local copy of the cache data (also called offline session) to your handheld device or laptop. By having the data local it will also improve performance compared to having to go out over the internet and back to retrieve it.
